EMpower Data Processing and Management Software
Interactive, fast, and ready for large surveys and massive datasets, EMpower desktop software brings geophysicists and field operators everything they need to configure receivers, then manage, process, edit and export their data.
Available for Windows, macOS and Linux, EMpower works where you want to, from field laptops to big desktop screens.
Fast. Automatically.
Built from the ground up for speed, EMpower multitasking, automation, and multi-core support brings the power of your whole computer to your work.
Visual links between the recording time, recording place, and field equipment used give a bird’s-eye view of operations and data quality. The interactive timeline and map work together automatically to show where and when time series was collected, along with all the metadata. Want to see only recordings made with a particular sensor in a thousand-station project? Or want to only see the work of a specific operator? EMpower will show you in just a couple of clicks.
An intuitive processing workflow can get you from imported data to a fully processed curve in less than two minutes; fast field Evaluate-mode processing can go from data on an SD card to a curve in 30 seconds.
Automatic matching of available remote reference and of shared magnetics, robust processing templates, CSV report generation for an entire project in two clicks, and batch editing speed up processing and data management even more.
Bringing Crosspowers Into Focus
Masking crosspowers without modifying the underlying data, EMpower’s powerful editor helps bring accurate geophysical information into focus. The workbench system allows multiple edits of the same data, with cut-and-paste edits from one frequency to the next smoothing a whole curve in seconds.
Robust processing with optional automatic presets, magnitude/phase masks, and time-based editing give the control needed to understand the crosspower distribution and ensure only real information gets to the EDI stage. And the original crosspowers are always available for review and comparison.
Remote Control
With built-in ethernet networking and simple network configuration, every Phoenix receiver can upload data to a remote server by cellular or satellite modem. Want remote reference data at the base camp before heading to the working site in the morning? Phoenix systems let you do that.
Easy receiver networking configuration and receiver remote control in EMpower brings the Internet of Things approach to field geophysics, getting data from the field to the geophysicist quickly and efficiently.
On-site, field operators can view live receiver and recording status by connecting EMpower to any Phoenix, MTU-5C, MTU-8A and RXU-8A system with the optional external WiFi adaptor.

Time Series and Spectra Viewers
A single click displays the time series or the spectra of all channels, with options to display a few seconds at a time or even the entire timeseries.
Easy Receiver Configuration
Configure data density, receiver operating mode, and set up each channel independently, in seconds – then save the Config File to an SD Card for one-button acquisition start in the field.
MTC-50H, MTC-80H, and AMTC-30 sensors continue to provide dedicated bandwidth-limited recording capability, and are fully compatible with MTU-5C, MTU-8A, and RXU-8A systems; no adaptors required. With the MTU-8A, the six available magnetic channels support any combination of Phoenix sensors for easier field calibration and PNT testing, or obtaining full broadband recordings using one set of MT sensors (MTC-50H or MTC-80H) simultaneously with another set of AMT sensors (AMTC-30).
Compatibility
Processed results are exported to the industry-standard EDI format, ready for use with WinGLink, GeoTools, or 3D-MT programs like ModEM.
One-click export of time series to CSV format provides complete support for open-format data exchange and archiving.
EMpower includes built-in support for all Phoenix MTC-155, MTC-185, MTC-150, MTC-180, MTC-50H, MTC-80H, and AMTC-30 magnetic sensors, including synthetic calibrations for easy processing without actual field calibrations as well as sensor metadata logging.
EMpower runs on all three desktop operating systems: Windows, macOS and Linux are fully supported.
